Chengdu city is progressive, thriving and beautiful.

It is a modern metropolis with a history dating back more than 2300 years. Located in southwestern China, it is the provincial capital of Sichuan. It also boasts a rich collection of culture heritage, as well as picturesque rivers, lakes and forests. Chengdu has nice weather and is also widely known as “The City Impossible to Leave after Coming”.

Attractions

When travel in Chengdu, you should know beforehand that most of famous attractions are located outside of the city proper. Getting close to the cute giant pandas and marvelling at the Xiling snow mountain will be interesting trip activities. If you are interested in Chinese history, you should go to Thatched Cottage of Du Fu and Wuhou Memorial Temple, which have been home to two historical figures: poet Du Fu and Chinese hero Zhuge liang. Jinli Ancient Street and Kuan & Zhai Alley are best place to taste the featured local cuisine and view Chengdu’s ancient architectures.

History & Culture


Chengdu is a famous cultural city with a recorded history of over 2300 years, although there is evidence that Chengdu’s human habitation dates back to 3,700 – 4,500 years ago. Since established as the capital of Ancient Shu Kingdom, the city has played an important part in Chinese history. Especially in terms of culture, Chengdu has a lot of unique achievements, from opera, painting, and tea culture to Sichuan embroidery.
