Delegation of the University of Palermo Visited SWUFE-UD Institute of Data Science at SWUFE

On October 26th, a delegation led by Vice President, Prof. Mazzola Fabio and Director of International Affairs, Ms. Floriano Valeria of the University of Palermo visited our Institute. The Dean of our Institute, Prof. YANG Shilei, Associate Dean and Vice Chairman of the Institute Council, Mr. WANG Binyu attended the meeting.



YANG Shilei warmly welcomed Mazzola Fabio and the delegation. He briefly introduced the history, methods of education and characteristics of SWUFE-UD Institute of Data Science. He pointed out our Institute actively expands international cooperation projects, strives to create international demonstration zone for cultivating first-class undergraduate talents in "New Finance and Economics", focuses on bringing in high-quality education and teaching resources from overseas and explores new modes of international cooperative education. Both parties hope to strengthen cooperation and seek mutual development in discipline construction, talents cultivation and teacher-student visits.

Mazzola Fabio and Floriano Valeria expressed gratitude for the reception and highly acknowledged the distinctive disciplines and cultivation modes of our Institute. Mazzola Fabio introduced the establishment background, distinctive disciplines, teachers and students, and international exchange programs of the University of Palermo. He hoped that both parties can explore more cooperative paths in teacher-student exchange and educational methods.

During the meeting, both parties had in-depth discussions on students and projects exchange, cooperation modes, cross-border exchanges about teachers and students from China and Italy, summer camps, and one-way and two-way overseas exchange paths. The meeting deepened the understanding between both parties and laid a solid foundation for future cooperation.

The University of Palermo, founded in 1806 and located in the city of Palermo, is known as the largest university in Sicily. Currently it has 12 colleges with approximately 200 courses, including three-year bachelor's degree courses, two-year master's degree courses, and professional continuing education courses. There are approximately 65,000 registered students and 1,930 teaching faculties.
